Butoh underlines immediate feelings, retrieves individual sense and provides flow of expression towards others.
This is the reason why studied subjects are human growth and its surroundings (i.e. birth, death, nature, marriage, with its human beings and elements)
Especially through these daily feelings, Tango comes across its utmost expression, like melancholy, passion, love, treason and death. Tenuousness and oriental spirituality were added to these feelings enabling tango to become of great importance
TANGO BUTOH AND MY ROOTS ARE SHIVERING
I am walking down the streets of Tokyo, towards a meeting with Butoh Dance master, Kazuo Ohno. A dream is born. Voices from other voices, from the East, which I cannot hold on to.
The echo of the Taiko of ancient medieval fortresses gets confused with the crying of the air and of the soul confined in a small Buenos Aires box.
Words vibrate in my body dancing daily rituals from the bottom of the spirit of imperial Noh theatre, a phantom arises, pursues and troubles me. And this phantom convokes more phantoms, riding the untamable bandoneon that doesn't keep silence.
TANGO, seems to die within the new man who already doesn't listen. TANGO, apparently weak towards the uncertainty of passions. TANGO, completely silent in the presence of death in cathedrals. Buddha and Christ are crying together.
TANGO, Icarus of the soul, rushes dissolving his expectations in the future.
